Emily Rodgers Information

The title of Winston Churchill's memoir, "Painting as a Pastime", captures my own approach to artist expression. Art requires space, audacity, and an ability to articulate reflections that are meaningful both to the artist and to the wider public
I grew up in Fredericksburg, Texas, and graduated from Baylor University with emphases in both Great Texts and Studio Art. My painting subjects range from architectural structures and flowers to literary figures and landscapes, and I draw from many artists for inspiration including Georges Rouault, Paul Cezanne, Georgia O'Keefe, and Mark Rothko. Every painting tells a story, and I try to tell good ones.
